The beginning of your fitness journey will be a challenging one.
However, I can promise you this, if you stick to it, it WILL be one of the most fulfilling and one of the most rewarding things that you do in your entire life!
Starting a fitness lifestyle is about dedication.
It’s about what you’re willing to do, for what you want.
When you begin, you have to make a decision that you are not going to stop until you see the results that you want. Because, believe me, the beginning is an uphill battle that you’ve got to fight for.
• You’ve got to fight the, “No I’m too tired.”
• You’ve got to fight the, “No I’m too sore.”
• You’ve got to fight all the excuses that are going to come up in your mind as to why you shouldn’t get up and go work out.
• I’m telling you right now if you can just say, “NO… I’m going to do it anyway,” to those excuses you will be very, very happy with the results.
One thing that you’ll need to focus on, is, small progress (more on that in Phase 3): getting up and putting on your running shoes is a WIN! Getting to the gym is a WIN! So be proud of yourself because you’re doing the MOST important step to seeing a major change in your body, and that’s taking ACTION!
Now, there will be a time, especially if you have more weight to lose than others, where you’ll feel tired, sore, and just plain unmotivated.
This is normal.
This is called “the cool down factor”, where in the beginning your emotionally excited to make a change, so you took massive action but after a few weeks or even a few days, that excitement begins to wear down.
The reason is, you’ve simply lost focus on why you started in the first place. Your reason for working out and pushing yourself to the next level CAN NOT BE “to lose weight” or “to get healthy”, why?
Because that sh!t is BORING!
You know it, I know it, so why do we do it? Simply because that’s what we’ve been conditioned to say by our culture and society.
So what’s the solution?
Get EXCITED about your WHY again!
How? Change your attitude and language from “I want to lose some weight” or “I just want to be healthy” to something that makes you NOT sound like a robot.
For example, why not:
• “I want the VITALITY and ENERGY that makes me feel UNSTOPPABLE” or
• “I want to look and Feel IRRESISTIBLY Sexy!” or
• ANYTHING ELSE!
You get the point.
Make your WHY... which PULLS you towards what you want and doesn’t PUSH you away from it!
