Snacking and snacking often in between meals on things you 'shouldn't be consuming' (things like chips, crappy granola bars, cookies...did I mention chips?) is one of the biggest reasons why many people fail when trying to achieve their fitness goals.
It's really hard to resist the brightly colored pre-packaged bags of salty gluten (yummmmmm) when you're in a rush or need to grab something easy to snack on when on the go, at work, etc.
I've compiled a small list of snacks currently on the market that are easy on the calories while still having the convenience of being grab-and-go.
They also are NOT the obvious protein bar choice.
Very similar taste to the classic goldfish snacks but these are all organic wheat and you can see in the ingredients that there are no crazy preservatives or chemical additives.
I mean, who WANTS those in their snacks? Bleh.
Can be purchased by the box at most grocery stores or bought in bulk in individual bags at Costco (and probably at other wholesale retailers). Yup, you can also buy them online through Amazon.com:
Crunchy. Rice. WHAT?! Yes.
The days of plain and cardboard-y rice cakes are gone.
These are lightly sweetened with natural cane juice and rice syrup and are only 45 calories for one roller (they are literally cylinders of rice cake goodness) which OBVIOUSLY means you can top them with peanut butter. I found these babies at Costco. They come in a 3 pack of 8 rollers per pack.
Stow one in your desk drawer at work.
Boom, snack time.
Consider buying them from Amazon.com and have them delivered right to your office!
Can easily be found in the snack aisle of your local grocery store!
You can also buy them direct from Amazon.com:
Just make sure you get the unsalted bag. To me, they taste like childhood in the best of ways. The no salt thing is weird for a little bit but you begin to love them after 2 or 3. Also prime for dipping as these only ring in at 110 calories for 20 stink in' pretzels.
Get your sweet or salty fix with these snack ideas...then sit back, snack, and watch your waistline appreciate it.
