5 Sure Signs Your Personal Trainer SUCKS!

Personal Trainers get a bad rap.

Why?

Because there are schmucks out there who give us a bad name, that’s why.

In an age where it’s easier and easier to qualify as a trainer, and when fitness is a booming industry – the waters start to get murky.

With certifications like Crossfit’s Level One requiring no prior experience, you don’t always know if you’re in safe hands.

I want you to be sure that your trainer isn’t wasting your money, and that you can confidently turn up to your sessions – week in and week out.

That said, here is my list of:

5 Sure Signs Your Personal Trainer SUCKS:

#1: They Don’t Keep Track Of Your Progress

A sure sign your Personal Trainer is wasting your money, is that they don’t track what you do.

If you don’t know where you’ve been, you have no idea how to get where you’re going.

It doesn’t have to be a scientific method, but you should be able to see:

• what you lifted last week,
• what you’ll be lifting next week, and
• how far you’ve come since you started.

#2: They’re All About The Sale

If your trainer tries to sell you suppliments, blenders, special herbs, or magic belts, they don’t care about your health.

They care about your money.

#3: They Can’t Tell You ‘Why’

“Because I said so” isn’t a valid answer here.

If your trainer can’t tell you the scientific reason he or she has given you an exercise, a program or told you to eat a food...

then, they’re wasting your money.

This point boils down to personal development, which is a key area in an ever-changing industry.

#4: They Don’t Focus On Form

Technique is the most important part of your exercise routine.

If all you can hear from your trainers mouth is the ‘8...9...10’ of the rep count, well...

you’ve got yourself a bad trainer.

Your trainer should be fully focused on:

• your form,
• your technique and
• motivating you to move forward.

And, they will stop you if you’re doing something wrong.

#5: They Have Ever Said “No Pain, No Gain”

This is the most bogus excuse Personal Trainers use to disguise the fact their bad at their jobs.

Pain is your friend, not your foe. If something hurts, it means you’re doing it wrong. Your body doesn’t like it or you’ve done too much.

Of course, you’re going to ache after you exercise. But if it feels like your muscle is about to snap off the bone, or you can’t face the stairs – your personal trainer is a waste of money.
