Every Lady's 6 MUST HAVES for the Gym

Going to the gym, ladies? Damn right you are!  But do you have your… essentials?

You might call me vain. Nope, this girl is just prepared!

  1. Wireless Headphones

Wireless headphones have changed my life. No really. They are the best invention ever. Especially for the runners and elliptical lovers out there! You know those times when the cord of your headphones get stuck on your hand or the handle of the machine, which in turn, YANKS the headphone out of your ear?  Say good-bye to that! They don’t even need to be expensive. Mine (which I LOVE and have been using for over a year) are Kinivo BTH220 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones and I got them off Amazon for $20. The mobility you’ll experience is euphoric.

  1. Drugstore Make-Up
ALWAYS carry a small bag that holds your make-up essentials. This is perfect for having to run errand or do ANYTHING that involves you being in public after a workout. I used to take my old make-up and toss it in my gym bag…but then I realized you should actually retire make-up after a certain amount of time. SO, I went to my local CVS and purchased a few essentials which are AWESOME (dare I say better than some of my name brand crap).
  • Falsies Mascara by Maybelline New York (see below image!) - Because no make-up look is complete without mascara. This stuff is literally amazing and makes you look like you are wearing false eyelashes.
  • True Match compact makeup by L'Oreal Paris - It’s basically a powder and foundation all in one (double duty) and covers pretty well! Great for using as a concealer for dark spots or acne. AND, it’s oil free so no worries on getting clogged pores from this stuff after a sweaty gym sesh.
  • Soft Matte Lip Cream by NYX - Look more polished with a lip gloss that glides on extremely well and looks awesome! Many shades to choose from and can typically be found for under $5.

  1. Waist Wrap

This is NOT for waist training purposes, let me first state that (I don’t believe in those idiotic things). A waist WRAP can be found at your local sporting goods store, at Target, or online. It’s made of a neoprene fabric and simply Velcro’s together. I like these when I feel the need to SWEAT after a weekend of bad eating or if I’m feeling bloated. This simply makes you sweat a little extra during your workouts. I take it off immediately after and drink plenty of water, too!

  1. Body Splash

Because who wants to smell bad? If I’m running around post gym, I don’t want to smell “sweaty” (you KNOW you know that smell… ew). Every girl has like 5+ bottles of random body splashes from Bath & Body Works or Victoria’s Secret laying around from a bad Secret Santa gift 3 years ago that can easily be tossed into a gym bag, no purchase necessary.

  1. A Delicious Protein

Did you know that consuming protein under 30 minutes post-workout can help fat loss? Take a few scoops of whatever whey protein you have, toss it in a Ziploc bag, and there you have it. Ready to go right when you are done with your workout.

  1. Baseball Cap

For during or after your gym sesh. I use them during to keep the hair out of my face and to prevent sweat from dripping into my eyes during my cardio. It’s an effortless way to look put together when you are really just a sweaty, sloppy mess. If you don’t wear them during your workouts, hats are always a good thing to have ready to go for after, especially if you have places to go, people to see.

Lastly, you need a gym bag, duh! Once you’ve got your hands on one, stock it with these essentials and your days are guaranteed to be even just a tad bit better!
